One thing audiences notice right away about James is his charismatic nature…and that’s when he’s got them! James’ background in improv comedy helps him riff with young people, making them feel more comfortable and building a rapport that comes quick and easy. His presentation style is very interactive and inclusive. Because his keynotes are thought-provoking, filled with self-awareness and laced with comedy that a college student can appreciate, James’ audiences stay engaged from beginning to end.
Speaking From Experience:
While in college, James was an over-involved student leader. He was a Resident Assistant, brother of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., performed with the improv team, sang in the university and gospel choirs, sat on university committees, and was involved in many other organizations that also greatly effected his sleep schedule. He loved his experience so much he decided to work at a college! In total he worked in residence life and advised student governments for over 12 years. During his time of being both a student leader and a full-time student affairs professional James grew a lot from his mistakes and from his successes. He now feels today’s students and their advisors can benefit from hearing about his experience.
